Double Sided Limestone Mantel with Scrolled Consoles

Built as a double sided hearth, so the firebox opens through the wall and both rooms get the fire. The shelf is a plain moulded slab and the jambs are deep consoles that scroll out and back in one long sweep. Mottled buff limestone on a raised hearth of thick jointed slabs, fitted with rope twist iron and glass doors. Shown in a warm ochre kitchen beside a longcase clock.
